The nutrient ratios for corals and sponges in reef tanks are ideal when nitrates and phosphates are present in the lowest concentrations. Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto-Balance uses a mix of select organic carbon compounds and suitable inorganic nutrients to promote the natural integration of nitrates and phosphates into additional biomass. This lowers the nutrients in the water and simultaneously prevents deficiencies of nitrates or phosphates. Both the colour and growth in corals, sponges and other filter feeders are visibly improved.

Nitrates and phosphates can be stabilised especially effectively at the lowest level when Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto-Balance is used in conjunction with Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto-Pellets or Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto-Tricks. These are easy-to-use filter media made from organic biopolymers for fluid bed reactors, or trickle filters.
